This is a 19-year-old male from Madera, California, who presents for evaluation for adolescent gynecomastia. He underwent gland excision and suction-assisted lipectomy at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center in Novato, California. He had 70 grams of tissue removed from his right side and 61 grams of tissue removed from his left side. His postoperative photographs are seen at approximately four months after surgery.

He underwent breast gland excision and chest breast liposuction with removal of approximately 200 grams of fat from each side. He underwent surgical removal of 19 grams of breast tissue from his right and 17 grams of tissue from his left side. He has had previous gynecomastia surgery in year 2000 with liposuction only. He is not happy with the outcome and, therefore, presented to my office for further evaluation. He had 49 grams removed from his right side and 44 grams removed from his left. In addition, he had 600 cc of fat liposuctioned from his right side and 500 cc from his left. These photographs are seen six months after surgery. Note this is a common reason for revisional surgery, in which patients have liposuction only as their treatment. Thirty to thirty-five percent of my practice is redo surgery from other physician practices and the primary reason is due to liposuction only. This does not remove the glandular tissue.

Note that because of the laxity of skin we performed a superior crescent lift.  This lift removes a half-moon shape of skin on the top half of the areola, then closes it in a higher position. The incision is healing well.

He underwent glandular excision and suction-assisted lipectomy of the chest, from which I removed a total of 900cc from the right and 925cc from the left. I also removed a total of 39 grams of glandular tissue from the right and 57 grams from the left. He had a revision surgery at 11 months post-op due to a slight depression on the right lower chest area.

This patient has had gynecomastia surgery back in 1986, which he had liposuction only to his chest. He has been unsatisfied with his outcome at another facility and, therefore, presented to my office for gland excision and suction-assisted lipectomy. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 195 pounds. He underwent suction-assisted lipectomy of his chest with glandular excision at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center in Marin County, California. He had approximately 30 grams removed from his right side and 35 grams removed from his left side. In addition, he had abdominal liposuction and flank liposuction. He has a history of smoking marijuana but this has not changed the appearance of the chest. He underwent a right unilateral gland excision with suction assisted lipectomy with excision of 13 X 7 X 5 cm. segment of tissue. He had an uneventful recovery and has photographs seen at about four weeks after surgery
