Right. I don't feel like I need to get into the details of my sob story, as I'm sure you've all heard it 10 000 times. I can recall being embarrassed of my large nipples from a very young age (8/9 yrs old). Over the years one nipple kept getting puffier and larger, and more fat as well as hard tissue formed beneath the surface. I have always felt the need to suffer alone and for this reason, I'm not even sure my family realises I have gyno. I have shut myself off from sexual partners, family, friends, social situations for my entire life (I am now 22). It has destroyed my confidence, and it's probably the reason I have always been so quick to anger, I know there are people with "real" problems out there. But on a personal level. This has ruined my life. Ive had enough, I want people to know I have this, I want them to know I hate it. And I want to get rid of it!

I am currently living in New Zealand and I am wondering which surgeons I can contact to help me.

Best regards,
Kyle

You have true unilateral (one-sided) gynecomastia and given your history, the only treatment would be surgery.  Unfortunately there are very few surgeons who specialize in gynecomastia surgery in NZ and Australia -- and you really should go to a specialist.

There are a number of excellent gyne specialists in the US.  Perhaps you might consider traveling to consult with one of them.

Good luck!

Hi there. Thank you for the response. Sounds like my only option is a very pricey one. Is the surgery cheaper due to it being unilateral?

Regards, Kyle

Obviously, if only one side of the chest is being operated upon, then it would certainly be less expensive.  Just be aware that sometimes there is some excess tissue on the "normal" side -- just not as much.  If surgery is only done on the larger side, you may end up with the "normal" side appearing larger after surgery.  Only an in-person consult can fully determine what procedure is needed.
