I am 3 weeks post op. Please advise if this is crater deformity or do I need to be just patient ? Also seems like the right areola got injured while operating and the areolar skin dried and fell off. Now that part of areola is whitish. Will it regain the pigmentation? Very worried that I'll never be able to take shirt off in public.

Consider using my Standard After Gynecomastia Pictures to demonstrate the animation components that show up most with crater defects. Also consider adding your height, weight, and body fat percentage so others can better understand the global fat component of the contour. My Standard Videos are even more revealing of Deformity, but this forum does not permit them.

Injured badly enough, tissue loses its pigmentation. This can recover, may remain permanently without pigment, or become too dark. Taken over time, the close up pictures of that set of the areola will help demonstrate the evolution of tissues and if the pigment returns or becomes darker.

Hope this helps,

Michael Bermant, M.D.
