  • If you gat um flunt um.
I know this is not the forum for this topic but I just have to get it out of me system as much as I can, if that will vere be possible after 50 years of marriage.  We have all gone through some hard time in our lives with our breast growth but believe me it is nothing like seeing your wife in hospice care and waiting for the call tat she has died. My children have been my strongest support and I love then for that. My daughter came down form Richmond VA and my Son cut his last class as a teacher at school so they could be part of the decision.  I am only up now because I am waiting for the call.

Thank you all for al for allowing me to post this of topic message.

Don,

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers! If you want to talk, and have my phone number so don't hesitate to give me a call anytime  you need to! And as far as I'm concerned,  this is a "support" forum in more ways then one! Therefore, we can post other needs we my have of each others support,  so just know that I'm here for you my friend!

Your friend and shipmate
Bob

I am so sorry to hear this. My heart is breaking for you. I can't even imagine what you must be going through. 50 years of memories are something you will always have. No one or thing can take that from you. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

My deepest sympathies for your loss.
Bras aren't for women, they're for breasts.

Gentlemen,
I have an update on our fellow forum member and friend Don. His wife did pass on the 27th of April but before he had an opportunity to bury her he fell sick and ended up in the ER. They took him into emergency surgery where he lost part of his colon and rectum!

He is now not only using a bag but on a O2 tank as well! He also has lost driving privileges too! He of course is very depressed and could used prayers, so if you believe in the power of prayer, please join me and include Don, and his son and daughter in yours!

I have not talked to him via phone as I lost his number (had phone issues) however we has communicated via email. I will update as I get them if you want me to.

I most certainly shall pray for him and for the repose of the soul of his wife.

OMG! I knew he had been pretty quiet and I just thought it was part of the grieving process. So sorry to hear about this. Wishing for a speedy recovery.

New update 5/29

Don called me last night. I let him know that we are all thinking of him and miss him here on the forum and he thanked all of you for that! He will need more surgery, from what he was telling me he will be able to get rid of the bag in time! He feels trapped in his home now that he can't get in his car and just go! His O2 doesn't get delivered when he needs it or they tell him when it will be there. If he goes anywhere he has to take the bottle of O2 with! And at one time we thought having breast was a problem!

As for grieving, as we all know that takes time, and after 50 years of marriage you aren't going to be over that for some time! And as I found out after I lost a son, in some ways you really never get over it, you just learn to move on!

Don is depressed and with good reason!

He said that he will be back with us as soon as he feels whole again!  He is Hoping that is sooner then later so your thoughts and prayers are still welcome and appreciated!

Have we heard anything new on how Don is doing?

Yes, I do have and update! I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with Don just this past week and he of course is still grieving,  however his spirit has lifted a lot!

He has been doing a ton of house cleaning and donating his wife's clothing and other stuff. Sold her car.

Health wise he is still on the bag, but off the O2. He said it will be awhile with the bag, but looks forward to sitting on the toilet again! Lol

He said hi to all also telling me that I can share with you what we do talk about as well! He said that he will come back once he feels like being more public again, but he is staying very limited to his interactions still at this time.

I will continue to let you know how hes do as I get updates.

Thanks for asking Johndoe1!

Walt, I'm truly sorry for your loss! I don't remember that you every said anything about this to us when this happened! I sure wish you would have, I for one would have been more than happy to give you a shoulder to lean on! I lost a son who was only 6 years old almost 31 years ago in 1988, and as you said it takes time to grieve and heal! Truth be told, and I'm sure you can understand,  there are times I can still be down and out over the loss of Chris!
