Elliot W. Jacobs, MD, FACS
Dr Jacobs is a native New Yorker - born, raised and educated in the Big Apple. After graduation from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, he trained in both General and Plastic Surgery at Mt Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. After having served in the US Air Force in Texas, he returned to New York and opened his office for the private practice of Plastic Surgery on Park Avenue in Manhattan.
Dr Jacobs’ practice is devoted to cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body. He has a special interest in treatment of gynecomastia, having suffered from the condition himself. Over the years, Dr Jacobs has improved upon prior surgical techniques for gynecomastia and has designed his own line of specialty instruments to aid in those improvements.
At age 7, Dr Jacobs said he wanted to become a surgeon - and he did.
He feels blessed to be able to work at what he loves to do - helping people. He enjoys the art and science of plastic surgery - perhaps the most innovative and artistic of all medical specialties.
With regard to gynecomastia, Dr Jacobs has himself suffered both the physical and emotional embarrassments of this condition - and he relates to all the guys on the forums. He has dedicated a good portion of his medical career to furthering and improving the surgical techniques to correct gynecomastia. The ultimate goal of gynecomastia surgery is to provide a sculpted, manly chest which is consistent with the rest of one’s body - and with the most minimum of scars. And to a great extent, this goal has been accomplished.
