i gotta figure out this site. i posted but dont know where it went. my boobs started growing about 1 1/2 years ago. i think prostate medicine triggered it so i stopped taking it but my boobs keep growing. ill go awhile with no growth, then ill go through a week or 2 of pain & they grow again. is this normal? i had no growth for about 2-3 months then in past 2 weeks they grew a full Cup size. im closing in on a C cup. til i found this site i thought i was alone & afraid to talk about it. most photos ive seen of guys it looks mostly like fat but mine look like Real Female breasts. and im not fat or overweight. im still barely able to hide them but if they keep growing ill Never hide them. check my photo & let me know. do you think what i have is Gyno?  Thanx -  help - so glad i found this site so i know im not alone

Hi Jim a lot of medicines are well known for causing gyne like yours, but to stop taking them without medical advice can also have side affects and maybe has caused a hormone imbalance as well, so please see a doctor and get yourself checked would be my first call Jim. but this a good site and no your not alone at all i choose to live with mine breasts and its for life as i take blood pressure tablets which caused my gyne in the first place, and i had a hormone imbalance last year which has caused me some problems like sore breasts and nipples etc but i just live with it cheers Kevo

Yup, that is a bit of a real problem there.

What sort of medications were you on?  Are you still on them?

i was on prostate, heart & blood pressure meds. when the growth started i stopped taking the prostate meds since i knew this was a side effect.i was not aware the other meds could cause this so i never did anything about those. i cant just stop those. i might die so ive scheduled an appt. with my cardios to see if they can change the meds since im clearly growing boobs. its not stopping either. ive increased another half cup size since that photo and i have 2 women friends totally jealous cuz im now bigger than them. i try to use them to my advantage tho. i tell them " ill show you mine if you show me yours", lol
im really starting to wonder if i will need to get mammograms now. any doctors can answer that here??

I had a lump in one of my breasts about 2 years ago & was sent to breast clinic. They told me because my boobs were dense glandular tissue, a mammogram would not be of much value & so the doc did a " core biopsy" a bit painful but the results showed no abnormalities. I was told how to check my breasts.
Guys can & do get breast cancer & the fatality rate is much higher than women simply because most guys dont think that they can get it so it isnt diagnosed in time.
Its not necessary to have gyne to get breast cancer either!
Learn how to check them & see you doc if you feel anything strange. They say most breast lumps are harmless.

Male breasts that are sore and growing should be evaluated by a competent Endocrinologist. If there is an underlying factor, it may have a remedy. If the growth is due to a necessary Medication that Causes Gynecomastia, then sometimes the Endocrinologist can work with the Cardiologist to come up with a compromise that treats the medical problem but stabilizes the breast growth.

I order Male Mammograms when clinically indicated by a hands on examination. I caution all of my Klinefelter's Syndrome gynecomastia patients that they are at much higher risk of breast cancer than the normal male population. This is not due to the gynecomastia, but the XXY genetic makeup. When national guidelines for women are up in the air about when to screen with mammograms, that complexes recommendations to my own patients. However, I am not convinced that the guidelines are up being reviewed because the old ones were not effective, new ones are better, or people are trying to reign in the cost of medicine.

Hope this helps,

Well, after several visits to my doctors, none of my medications are causing this but for some reason my body is producing Estrogen. Since i am Male, I do not have Progestrerone to Balance out the Estrogen so that is Causing the Accelerated Breast growth. Plus hot flashes, night sweats, dizziness & other things. So im basically turning into a woman with menopause. something is telling my body i have NO estrogen so it keeps producing it. Cause is not known yet. im as far as i can go with my doctors. i must see an Endocrinologist. Problem there is Earliest appointment i can get is in 3 months. At my current growth rate ill be a damn D cup by then.

It can be hard to get to see an Endocrinologist in some parts of the world. For one of my patients when there has been a pressing need, I have been successful at times in getting them into a specialist by calling the doctor directly. Some patients need to travel to get a timely evaluation and it may be outside of their normal insurance coverage.

Have you asked your doctor for assistance in getting an earlier evaluation?

Hope this helps,

My breasts are really filling out now. getting bigger, rounder & growing Out now. Ive also noticed my body shape changing, my skin getting softer, my eyelashes growing And altho im exercising like crazy, im losing NO weight. This is insane. Im 50 years old & watching myself turn into a woman. Im wondering if theres something in the water supply.

Anyone else having anything change on them?

Does a higher estrogen cause changes in women (say larger breasts or ?), so is anyone else in the house seeing issues?  Might be easy to rule out the water supply, I would think it would be hard to get that much ppm concentration though to make much of a diff.

Dr's, If your testosterone glands stopped working, would that cause this?  I completely agree, this is where the right dr needs to be looking at it.  I am in engineering, and by all means, sometimes there is the right test for the situation, and nothing else will do.

women have progesterone with th estrogen to balance it out. even if a women gets an imbalance of estrogen over progesterone it will cause breast growth. its called unopposed estrogen. so if a man gets too much estrogen with no balance the breasts grow.
there is estrogen in Many household products we use daily. soaps shampoos laundry detergents, All frangrances & many more items that all go right down the drain & into our water supply. there are over 70,000 chemicals with estrogenic properties including herbicides & pesticides.
Also as men age testosterone not only decreases but actually converts to estrogen
there are also growth hormones in a lot of meat products. All these synthetic hormones build up in your body cuz the liver can not clean them out
All this is leading to an increase in Gynecomastia, Prostate Cancers & other things in past 20 years. Since most men with this condition hide it & keep it to themselves, there is no way to accurately tell how prevalent this is. Im starting to believe its Major
from what ive read, just the cases reported to Doctors has increased 2000% in past 5-10 yrs. Is that just cuz men r more aware of it & reported it or has it really increased that much?
Id luv to figure out a way to do a national survey & see Just how many men this is happening to. What better way to calm the masses but by Feminizing the men through the water supply. More i research, the more of a pattern im seeing & its getting scary
